Prison Alliance
Prison Alliance is a global discipleship ministry serving people behind bars. The ministry leads prisoners to Christ by distributing Bibles, Christian books, and evangelistic tracts. Through a structured Bible study program, inmates are discipled and equipped to become disciple-makers within their correctional facilities.
Founded in 1996 by Kathleen Skaar, Prison Alliance initially focused on providing free Christian books to community centers, shelters, and missionary families. As the ministry expanded, its mission shifted toward partnering with chaplains in correctional facilities to place God’s Word directly into the hands of inmates. Kathleen Skaar served as Executive Director for twenty-five years, helping establish the foundation and direction of the ministry before her retirement. Today, Prison Alliance continues to advance the gospel and foster discipleship within prisons around the world.
